parcel of land in advance of purchase, or purchase a
specific tract of land. When the appropriation is made,
the Department and the St. Mary's City Commission, with
approval of the Board of Public Works, may obtain options
to purchase certain lands. The State may purchase
property optioned or any other parcel provided funds are
available in the Advance Option and Purchase fund.

[The] THERE IS A Fair Hill Improvement Fund [is
created within] IN the Department, to be used for the
operation, maintenance, development, and improvement of
the Fair Hill facilities at Fair Bill, Maryland. Any
money obtained by the Department from Fair Hill shall be
credited to the Fair Hill Improvement Fund.
7-201 .
(a) [The] THERE IS A Bureau of Mines [is created
and continued], ESTABLISHED as part of the Survey.
7-204.
(a) [The] THERE IS A Maryland Commission on Mining
Laws [is created and continued]. It consists of three
persons appointed by the Governor, with the advice of the
Secretary. One of the three members shall be a
representative of the mine operators, one shall be a
representative of the mine employees, and at least one
member shall be a resident of the State who is not
affiliated with the Governor's own political party. The
Governor shall designate one of the members to serve as
chairman. The commissioners shall serve without
compensation but shall be reimbursed in accordance with
the standard travel regulations for travel expenses and
disbursements made in the conduct of their official
duties. The commissioners serve at the pleasure of the
Governor.
