LAWS OF MARYLAND
TIME WITHIN THE NEXT SUCCEEDING 12 MONTHS UPON THE
PAYMENT OF A FEE OF $25 FOR PROFESSIONAL LAND SURVEYORS
AND $12 FOR PROPERTY LINE SURVEYORS. RENEWAL SHALL BE
EVIDENCED BY THE ISSUANCE OF AN ANNUAL REGISTRATION CARD,
BEARING THE DATE OF EXPIRATION AND THE SIGNATURES OF THE
CHAIRMAN AND SECRETARY OF THE BOARD. IF ANY REGISTRANT
FAILS TO RENEW HIS CERTIFICATE WITHIN THE 12-MONTH PERIOD
PROVIEED ABOVE, AND LATER APPLIES FOR RENEWAL, HE MAY BE
REQUIRED TO PRESENT REASONS FOR THE RENEWAL. THE BOARD
MAY GRANT A RENEWAL OF THE CERTIFICATE IN WHICH CASE THE
RENEWAL FEE IS THE SAME AS THE REGISTRATION FEE FOR
PROFESSIONAL LAND SURVEYORS AND FOR PROPERTY LINE
SURVEYORS. (D)    THE FEE FOR LAND SURVEYOR-IN-TRAINING IS $10
AND SHALL INCLUDE THE COST OF EXAMINATION AND ISSUANCE OF
THE CERTIFICATE. (E)    THE REGISTRATION FEE FOR A CERTIFICATE OF
AUTHORIZATION FOR A CORPORATION OR PARTNERSHIP IS $50. (F)    IF THE BOARD DENIES THE ISSUANCE OF A
CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION TO ANY APPLICANT OR A
CERTIFICATE OF AUTHORIZATION TO ANY CORPORATION OR
PARTNERSHIP, THE INITIAL FEE DEPOSITED   SHALL BE RETAINED
AS AN APPLICATION FEE. 330. (A)    EXAMINATIONS SHALL BE HELD AT THE TIME AND
PLACE THAT THE BOARD DETERMINES. IF EXAMINATIONS ARE
REQUIRED ON FUNDAMENTAL LAND SURVEYING SUBJECTS (SUCH AS
ARE ORDINARILY GIVEN IN APPROVED LAND SURVEYING
CURRICULA), THE APPLICANT SHALL BE PERMITTED TO TAKE THE
EXAMINATION PRIOR TO HIS COMPLETION OF THE REQUISITE
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE, AND CREDIT FOR THE SUCCESSFUL
COMPLETION OF THIS EXAMINATION BY THE APPLICANT SHALL BE
VALID FOR A PERIOD OF TEN YEARS. THE BOARD SHALL ISSUE
TO EACH APPLICANT, UPON SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETING THE
EXAMINATION IN THE FUNDAMENTALS OF LAND SURVEYING, A
CERTIFICATE STATING THAT HE HAS PASSED THE EXAMINATION
AND THAT HIS NAME HAS BEEN RECORDED AS A LAND
SURVEYOR-IN-TRAINING. (B)    THE EXAMINATION IN THE PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICE
OF LAND SURVEYING MAY NOT BE TAKEN BY AN APPLICANT UNTIL
HE HAS SATISFIED ALL OF THE OTHER REQUIREMENTS FOR
REGISTRATION SET FORTH IN THIS SUBTITLE. (C)    THE SCOPE OF THE EXAMINATIONS AND THE METHODS
OF PROCEDURE FOR TAKING AND GRACING SHALL BE PRESCRIBED
BY THE BOARD TO TEST THE APPLICANT'S ABILITY TO DESIGN,
PLAN, AND DIRECT LAND SURVEYING SO AS TO INSURE THE
SAFETY OF LIFE, HEALTH, AND PROPERTY. (D)    (1) AN APPLICANT, AFTER A FAILURE, MAY TAKE
ANOTHER EXAMINATION BY FILING A PETITION WITH THE BOARD,
ON A FORM ISSUED BY THE BOARD, INDICATING THE APPLICANT'S
