3-108(e) and 13-101(j) of Article - Real Property, of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1974 Volume and 1976
Supplement) be and they are hereby repealed and
reenacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
Article - Real Property
3-103.
(e) Except in Caroline County, each plat shall be
signed and sealed by a registered land surveyor. In
Montgomery County and Prince George's County, the
surveyor shall be registered in the state by the State
Board of Registration for Professional [Engineers and]
Land Surveyors.
13-101.
(j) "Surveyor" means any professional land
surveyor licensed to practice land surveying under
[Article 75 1/2] ARTICLE 56 of the Code.
SECTION 5. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That new
Sections 323 through 337 to be under the new subtitle
"Professional Land Surveyors" be and they are hereby
added to Article 56 — Licenses, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1972 Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement) to
read as follows:
Article 56 — Licenses
PROFESSIONAL LAND SURVEYORS
323.
(A) IN THIS SUBTITLE THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE
MEANINGS INDICATED.
(B) "BOARD" MEANS THE STATE BOARD OF REGISTRATION
FOR PROFESSIONAL LAND SURVEYORS.
(C) "LAND SURVEYOR" MEANS A PERSON WHO, BY REASON
OF HIS SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND USE OF THE MATHEMATICAL,
PHYSICAL, ENGINEERING, AND SURVEYING SCIENCES AND THE
PRINCIPLES AND METHODS OF SURVEYING, ACQUIRED BY
SURVEYING EDUCATION AND SURVEYING EXPERIENCE, IS
QUALIFIED TO PRACTICE LAND SURVEYING.
(D) "PROFESSIONAL LAND SURVEYOR" MEANS A PERSON
WHO HAS BEEN REGISTERED AND LICENSEE UNDER THIS SUBTITLE.
(E) "LAND SURVEYOR-IN-TRAINING" MEANS A PERSON WHO
COMPLIES WITH THE REQUIREMENTS FOR EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE,
AND CHARACTER AND HAS PASSED AN EXAMINATION IN THE
FUNDAMENTAL SURVEYING SUBJECTS AS PROVIDED IN THIS
SUBTITLE.
(F) (1) "PRACTICE OF LAND SURVEYING" INCLUDES:
