SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 255(b) of Article 27 - Crimes and
Punishments, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1976
Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

(b) In Charles County a volunteer fire company, or
bona fide fraternal, civic, war veterans', religious or
charitable organization or corporation may not conduct or
hold any carnival, bazaar, [or] raffle, OR CARD PARTY
unless the County Commissioners of Charles County grant a
permit which specifies the nature of the gambling device
and the frequency with which the carnival, bazaar, [or]
raffle, OR CARD PARTY shall be held. The County
Commissioners may charge a reasonable fee for the
issuance of the permit.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977.
|

AN ACT concerning
Oysters and Clams - Licenses
FOR the purpose of providing for a personal oyster
license; providing a fee for said license;
eliminating the licensing of gear for taking
oysters; increasing the license fee for hydraulic
clam dredge; providing certain exemptions to the
oyster and hydraulic clam dredge license fee
requirements; requiring the captain or master of a
dredge boat to attach certain numbers; eliminating
the transfer provisions for licensed dredge boats;
and making certain clarifying changes relating to
the establishment of a personal oyster license and
elimination of the licensing of gear.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
