AN ACT concerning
Motor Vehicles - Animal Drawn Vehicles
Animals — Riding on Highways
FOR the purpose of excepting Anne Arundel County from
that provision of the law which prohibits a person
from riding an animal or driving an animal drawn
vehicle on certain highways providing for the riding
of animals on certain parts of highways in Anne
Arundel County.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 21-104(b) of Article
Transportation, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (As
enacted by Chapter ___ of the Acts of the General
Assembly of 1977) be and it is hereby repealed and
reenacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
Article - Transportation
21-104.
(b) (1) Except in ANNE ARUNDEL, Charles,
Worcester, and St. Mary's Counties, OR AS PROVIDED IN
PARAGRAPH 2 OF THIS SUBSECTION, a person may not ride an
animal or drive an animal-drawn vehicle on:
(1) (I) Any divided highway where the
posted maximum speed limit is more than 35 miles an hour;
or
(2) (II) Any controlled access highway.
