PRETENSES, OR TRESPASSES, UPON ANY PREMISES WITH THE
INTENT TO PLACE, ADJUST OR REMOVE WIRETAPPING OR
ELECTRONIC SURVEILLANCE OR EAVESDROPPING EQUIPMENT
WITHOUT A COURT ORDER IS GUILTY OF A FELONY AND UPON
CONVICTION MAY BE IMPRISONED FOR NOT MORE THAN TEN YEARS.

SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977.

AN ACT concerning
Consumer Loans
FOR the purpose of consolidating the laws of this State
relating to small loans and consumer loans into a
unified Maryland Consumer Loan Law; modifying
provisions relating to the licensing and regulation
of persons making these loans, permitted rates of
interest and other charges, maximum amounts of loans
permitted to be made, required disclosures,
computations and other duties, prohibited charges,
transactions, and other activities, and penalties;
conforming related statutes; repealing certain
obsolete language; providing for a certain duty for
the Insurance Commissioner; correcting a technical
error; and generally relating to these loans and
their regulation.
