REQUIREMENTS FOR PUBLIC BODIES SET FORTH IN ARTICLE 100,
SUBTITLE "CONTRACTS FOR PUBLIC WORKS". REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as
Art. 62B, §5(s) - except for the first clause
of §5(s), which now appears as §6-208 of this
subtitle. The only changes are in style. As to the exercise of the powers and duties
contained in this section, see §6-203(b) of
this subtitle. See, also, Order No. 6 of the Joint Standing
Committee on Administrative, Executive and
Legislative Review, September 26, 1975, which
requires publication in the Maryland Register
of "{n}otices of State construction projects
tor which bids were requested" and "{a}wards
of State construction projects". (Vol. 2
Maryland Register, page 1364). As to contracts for architectural and
engineering services, see, also, Title 2,
Subtitle 3 of this article. The bidding requirements of this section apply
to contracts of $5,000 or more; in §§ 5—214
and 7—403 of this article, dealing with the
State Aviation Administration and the Mass
Transit Administration, respectively, the like
requirement applies only to construction
contracts costing over $10,000. Also, while
the various other provisions of §§ 5-214 and
7—403 are substantively similar to one
another, the provisions of this section are of
a considerably dissimilar nature. The General
Assembly may wish to review those various
sections and consider conforming their
respective provisions. 6-210. MARYLAND PORT ADMINISTRATION POLICE FORCE. (A)       FORCE ESTABLISHED. THESE IS A MARYLAND PORT ADMINISTRATION POLICE FORCE
IN THE ADMINISTRATION. REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language
added to clarify the existence of the Police
Force and its status as part of the
Administration. (B)      POWERS.
