Preamble WHEREAS, In subsection (c) of §32C, Article 77A,
enacted by Chapter 538, Acts of 1976, "the council"
should be "committee". In subsection (b) of section 32C,
Article 77A "State Board of Elementary and Secondary
Education" should be "State Board of Education". In
subsection (c) of section 32C, Article 77A "State
Department of Elementary and Secondary Education" should
be "State Department of Education". In subsection (c) of §64B, added in Article 77A by
Chapter 770, Acts of 1976, the semicolon following
"contribute" should be deleted. In paragraph (b) of §66, Article 77A, as amended by
Chapter 538, Acts of 1976, the semicolon following
"degrees" should be a comma. The first sentence in subsection (a) of §81, Article
77A, enacted by §2, Chapter 550, Acts of 1975, concludes
"to the date or redemption of the bonds". The "or"
should be "of"; now, therefore, SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Sections 32C(b) and (c), 64B(c), 66(b),
81(a) of Article 77A — Higher Education, of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1975 Replacement Volume and 1976
Supplement) be and they are hereby repealed and
reenacted, with amendments, to read as follows: Article 77A - Higher Education 32C. (b)    The education coordinating committee shall,
upon referral from the [State Board of Elementary and
Secondary Education]STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION or the State
Board for Higher Education, and may, upon its own motion,
study, consider, and make recommendations with respect to
matters of educational policy or administration which
concern or have an effect on both elementary and
secondary education and higher education. (c)    All staff assistance to the [council]COMMITTEE
shall be furnished by the [State Department of Elementary
and Secondary Education]STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION and
the State Board for Higher Education. 64B. (c) In order to enhance the eminent scholar
program the State may [contribute; funds] CONTRIBUTE
FUNDS to match endowments obtained by each institution
