2384                                    LAWS OF MARYLAND                           Ch. 522 FOR the purpose of providing that a minor shall have the
same capacity to consent to medical treatment for
alcoholism as an adult. BY adding to Article 43 - Health Section 135(a)(6) Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement)
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 135(a) (6) be and it is hereby
added to Article 43 — Health, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement) to
read as follows: Article 43 - Health 135. (a) A minor shall have the same capacity to
consent to medical treatment as an adult if one or more
of the following apply: (6) THE MINOR SEEKS TREATMENT OR ADVICE
CONCERNING ANY FORM OF ALCOHOLISM AS DEFINED IN §103 (C)
OF ARTICLE 43 2C OF THE ANNOTATED CODE.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977, Approved May 17, 1977.
CHAPTER 523 (House Bill 1195) AN ACT concerning Prince George's County Board of
Education - Student Member
(PG 202A-76) PG 202-77 FOR the purpose of adding a student member to the Prince
George's County Board of Education; authorizing a
certain vouchered account for the student member;
specifying the qualifications, election, and rights
of that student member; establishing the term of
office of the student member; and generally relating
to a student member on the Prince George's County
Board of Education.
