Kent County — Bingo
FOR the purpose of permitting bingo games on Sunday in
Kent County; clarifying language; and generally
relating to Sunday activities in Kent County.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 27 — Crimes and Punishments

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 247 of Article 27 - Crimes and
Punishments, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1976
Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to read
as follows;
Article 27 — Crimes and Punishments
247.
(A) Nothing in this subtitle shall be construed to
make it unlawful for any bona fide fraternal, religious,
or charitable organizations or corporations, or volunteer
fire company operating in communities which have no paid
fire department, to conduct or operate a game of bingo
for the benefit of charity in Anne Arundel, Queen Anne's,
Somerset, or Kent counties, or in furtherance of the
purposes of such organizations, corporations or volunteer
fire department, and in Kent and Somerset counties, any
bona fide war veterans' organization shall also be
included in the provisions of this section.
(B) THIS ARTICLE MAY NOT BE CONSTRUED TO PROHIBIT
THE GAME OF BINGO ON SUNDAY IN KENT COUNTY.
