AN ACT concerning
Teacher Tuition Waiver
FOR the purpose of allowing certain graduates of higher
education institutions under teacher tuition waivers
to fulfill their obligation by alternate methods of
service.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 77A - Higher Education
Section 12(g-1) and (g-2), and 27AE(a) and (b)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1975 Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Sections 12 (g-1) and (g-2), and 27AE(a)
and (c) of Article 77A - Higher Education, of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1975 Replacement Volume and
1976 Supplement) be and they are hereby repealed and
reenacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
Article 77A - Higher Education
12.
(g-1) Any student WHO HAS EVER GRADUATED FROM, who
is enrolled in or who HEREAFTER graduates [in academic
year 1973—1974] from a State college under the tuition
waiver program authorized in subsection (g), and who has
executed a contract to teach in the public schools
pursuant thereto, may fulfill his obligation to the State
in the following manner:
(1) By teaching in a public or approved
nonpublic elementary or secondary school, or college, in
Maryland for the term and within the period specified in
his contract; or
(2) By engaging in a reaching, training or
education position equivalent to a full-time teaching
position in the public schools of Maryland with (a) a
