SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 1-404 of Article - Corporations
and Associations, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1975
Volume and 1976 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed
and reenacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
Article — Corporations and Associations
1-404.
(A) IN GENERAL.
Any person who owns, operates, or directs an
unincorporated organization, firm, association, or other
entity which includes in its name the word "corporation,"
"incorporated," or , EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN SUBSECTION (B)
OF THIS SECTION, "limited" or an abbreviation of any of
these words or which holds itself out to the public as a
corporation is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction
is subject to a fine not exceeding $500.
(B) EXCEPTION.
