if: (A) that claimant left the service of the employer
voluntarily without good cause attributable to his
employer, OR (B) THAT CLAIMANT LEFT THE SERVICE OF THE
EMPLOYER AFTER ADMITTING OR AFTER HAVING BEEN FOUND
GUILTY OF HAVING STOLEN PROPERTY FROM COMMITTED ANY
CRIMINAL ACT AGAINST THE EMPLOYER.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977.

AN ACT concerning
Higher Education Student Board Members - Qualifications
FOR the purpose of requiring the student members of the
boards of certain institutions of higher education
to meet certain qualifications; subjecting those
members to removal from office in a certain manner;
generally relating to those student members; and
clarifying structure.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 77a - Higher Education
Section 8(a), 11(b), and 15(b) ,and 74 (a)
Annotated Code of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Sections 8(a), 11(b), and 15(b), and 74 (a)
of Article 77A — Higher Education, of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1975 Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement)
be and they are hereby repealed and reenacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
Article 77A - Higher Education
8.
(a) (1) The State Board for Community Colleges
is created to consist of eight members.
(2) Seven members shall be appointed by the
Governor with the advice and consent of the Senate from
among citizens of the State who are known for their
interest in civic and public affairs and for their
knowledge and perception in educational matters. These
seven members first appointed shall be appointed
