SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 11-2(l) be and it is hereby
added to Article 33 - Election Code, of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1976 Replacement Volume and 1976
Supplement) to read as follows;

(L) IN PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MEMBERS OF THE
DEMOCRATIC PARTY STATE CENTRAL COMMITTEE SHALL BE ELECTED
AS FOLLOWS: EIGHT MEMBERS SHALL BE ELECTED ON THE BASIS
OF ONE FROM WITHIN EACH OF THE EIGHT LEGISLATIVE
DISTRICTS LYING WHOLLY OR PARTIALLY WITHIN PRINCE
AT LARGE. THE TOTAL NUMBER OF MEMBERS OF THE STATE
CENTRAL COMMITTEE FOR THE COUNTY IS 11. THE DEMOCRATIC
PARTY CENTRAL COMMITTEE CONSISTS OF 24 MEMBERS ELECTED BY
ALL THE ELIGIBLE VOTERS IN THE COUNTY. TWO MEMBERS OF
THE COMMITTEE SHALL RESIDE IN EACH OF THE EIGHT
LEGISLATIVE DISTRICTS IN PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY. THE
REMAINING EIGHT MEMBERS MAY RESIDE IN ANY LOCATION IN
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY A CANDIDATE FOR ELECTION TO THE
DEMOCRATIC CENTRAL COMMITTEE SHALL DECLARE AT THE TIME HE
FILES FOR CANDIDACY WHICH SEAT ON THE CENTRAL COMMITTEE
HE IS SEEKING, IF A MEMBER WHO WAS ELECTED FROM A
SPECIFIC LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT CEASES TO RESIDE IN THAT
DISTRICT, HE MAY NOT CONTINUE TO SERVE ON THE CENTRAL
COMMITTEE.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977.
