SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977.

AN ACT concerning
Overweight Vehicles - Permits
FOR the purpose of altering certain permit fees charged
by the State Highway Administration for overweight
vehicles using State highways.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article — Transportation
Section 24-112(b)

the General Assembly of 1977)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 24-112 (b) of Article
Transportation, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (As
enacted by Chapter____of the Acts of the General Assembly
of 1977) be and it is hereby repealed and reenacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
Article — Transportation
24-112.
(b) (1) The State Highway Administration may
issue a permit allowing an overweight vehicle to use the
highways in this State.
(2) For each permit issued under this
subsection, the State Highway Administration shall charge
a fee of:
(i) $15 for the first 45 tons (90,000
pounds) or less of gross weight of the vehicle; and
