2054                                    LAWS OF MARYLAND                            Ch. 332 (1975 Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement) Preamble WHEREAS, The periods at the end of items 4 and 5     in the first portion of Part I in paragraph (1)     of subsection (a) in Section 117 of Article 77 should     be
removed. In subsection (a) of Section 128A of Article 77, the
period should be a colon. Subsections (a) and (e) of Section 218, added in
Article 77 by Chapter 539, Acts of 1976, refer to the
State Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
In Section 2 of Article 77, as amended by Chapter 539,
the words "Elementary and Secondary" have been
eliminated, so that the name of the department is "State
Department of Education". In subsection (d) of Section 218 there is a
reference to "the board". This should be "the council";
now, therefore, SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Sections 117(a)(1), 128A(a), and 218(a),
(d)(1) and (e) of Article 77 - Public Education, of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1975 Replacement Volume and
1976 Supplement) be and they are hereby repealed and
reenacted, with amendments, to read as follows: Article 77 — Public Education 117. (a) (1) The county board of education shall,
subject to the rules and regulations of the State Board
of Education and on and with the advice of the county
superintendent of schools, prepare an annual budget
according to the following major categories, and such
other major categories as may be prescribed by the State
Board of Education from time to time with such reasonable
supporting detail as may be required by county fiscal
authorities. Part I Current expense fund, estimated receipts 1.         Revenue from local sources 2.         Revenue from State sources 3.         Revenue from federal sources 4.         Unliquidated surplus (the actual from the
