Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute
FOR the purpose of altering the duties of making
technical corrections with respect to the Maryland
Fire and Rescue Institute; and clarifying language.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 77A — Higher Education

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 27AJ of Article 77A - Higher
Education, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1975
Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to read
as follows;
Article 77A - Higher Education
27AJ.
In addition to performing the duties and providing
the services formerly provided by the extension, the
institute shall:
(1) Provide classroom education and training for
fire [fighters] and rescue personnel, both at the
institute and throughout the State by means of mobile
LABORATORY demonstrations and classes;
(2) Cooperate in existing activities in
jurisdictions throughout the State which provide training
for fire [fighters] and rescue personnel;
[3. Prepare a plan for the establishment,
implementation, and operation of regional centers for the
