MARVIN MANDEL, Governor                               1919 hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to read
as follows: Article 77 — Public Education 73A. (a)    (1) The Prince George's County
[superintendent of schools] BOARD OF EDUCATION shall
devise an affidavit of disclosure form to be completed
and signed by parents or guardians of a student [in the
public schools of Prince George's County: (i) who is currently enrolled or
attending school during the calendar year 1976; (ii)] who is entering the Prince
George's County school system[; or (iii) who changes residence within
Prince George's County]. (2) By regulation, [he] THE BOARD shall make
completion of an affidavit of disclosure a prerequisite
of admission to the public schools, except that parents
and guardians who are newly arrived residents shall have
30 days after enrollment, if necessary, to complete such
affidavit. (b)    The purpose of the affidavit of disclosure
shall be limited to ascertaining from a parent or
guardian of a student in the public schools his or her
legal residence, AND the duration of his or her residency
in Maryland[, the registration numbers of motor vehicles
owned by a parent or guardian, and his or her driver's
permit number and the state, district, or territory which
issued it]. (c) The parent or guardian completing the
affidavit of disclosure shall attest to the truth of the
information contained in it by his or her signature which
shall be witnessed by persons designated by the Prince
George's County [superintendent of schools] BOARD OF
EDUCATION under appropriate rules and regulations. (d)    [The Prince George's County superintendent of
schools shall forward a copy of an affidavit of
disclosure to the Motor Vehicle Administration and to the
Income Tax Division of the Comptroller of the Treasury. (e) ] Failure to truthfully complete the affidavit
of disclosure by the parent or guardian is a misdemeanor,
and a person found guilty of violation of this section
shall be punished by a fine not to exceed $250.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977.
