(a) The Anatomy Board of Maryland is created as
part of the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. It
consists of two members EACH from the [department]
DEPARTMENTS of anatomy [of each medical school SCHOOLS
located in the State of Maryland,] OF THE UNIVERSITY OF
MARYLAND MEDICAL SCHOOL, THE JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY
SCHOOL OF MEDICINE, AND THE UNIFORMED SERVICES UNIVERSITY
OF THE HEALTH SCIENCES SCHOOL OF MEDICINE [to be

|
designated by the administrative officers of the
respective medical schools and a member of the Department
of Anatomy of the University of Maryland School of
Dentistry, to be designated by the administrative officer
of this school] AND ONE MEMBER FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF
ANATOMY OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND SCHOOL OF DENTISTRY
TO BE DESIGNATED BY THE ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICERS OF THE
RESPECTIVE SCHOOLS. The Board shall file periodic
reports with the Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene
as the Secretary may prescribe.
160.
(a) It shall be the duty and function of the
Anatomy Board to distribute the bodies under its
exclusive custody and control equitably [between the
two medical schools designated in § 158] AMONG THE

buy such body or bodies or any part or parts thereof, or
to send or transport or permit or cause to be sent or
transported such bodies or parts thereof beyond the
limits of the State, but this shall not be construed to
prohibit DISTRIBUTION OF HUMAN SPECIMENS BY THE ANATOMY
BOARD TO ANY OUT-OF-STATE FACILITY OF A MEDICAL SCHOOL
NAMED IN §158 OF THIS ARTICLE LOCATED IN THE STATE OF
MARYLAND, OR TO PROHIBIT any physician, teacher,
demonstrator or investigator of anatomy with prior
approval and permission of the Anatomy Board from taking
or transporting human specimens outside of the State for
use at scientific or medical meetings, demonstrations or
exhibits.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977.
