SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 178(a) of Article 48 -
Inspections, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971
Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to read
as follows;
Article 48 — Inspections
178.
(a) The owner or user of a toiler or pressure
vessel required by this subtitle to be inspected by the
chief boiler inspector, or his deputy boiler inspectors,
[shall pay] PAYS directly to the chief boiler inspector,
upon completion of inspection, fees in accordance with
the following schedule:
(1) Power boilers and high pressure, high
temperature water boilers:
Certificate inspections—
Boilers of 50 sq. ft. of heating
surface or less.........[$7.00] $7
Boilers over 50 sq. ft. of heating
surface and less than 4,000 sq.
ft. of heating surface.[15.00] $15
Boilers of 4,000 sq. ft. of heating
surface or more and less than
10,000 sq. ft. of heating
surface.................[20.00 ] $20
Boilers of 10,000 sq. ft. of heating
surface or more........[25.00] $25
External inspections—
Boilers of 50 sq. ft. of heating
surface or less..........[5.00] $5
Boilers over 50 sq. ft. of heating
surface...................[7.00] $7
(2) Heating boilers:

Heating boilers without a
