(House Bill 243)
AN ACT concerning
Vehicle Laws — Suspension of License
FOR the purpose of authorizing the Motor Vehicle
Administration to suspend, revoke, or refuse to
issue or renew a person's driver's license if such
person knowingly makes a false statement of required
security in an application for a certificate of
title or for registration of a vehicle.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article — Transportation
Section 16-206(a)
Annotated Code of Maryland

of the General Assembly of 1977)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 16-206 (a) of Article -
Transportation, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (As
enacted by Chapter ____ of the Acts of the General
Assembly of 1977) be and it is hereby repealed and
reenacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
Article - Transportation
16-206.
(a) The Administration may suspend, revoke, or
refuse to issue or renew the license of any resident or
the nonresident's privilege to drive of any nonresident
on a showing by its records or other sufficient evidence
that the applicant or licensee:
(1) has been convicted of moving violations
so often as to indicate an intent to disregard the
traffic laws and the safety of other persons on the
highways;
(2) is an unfit, unsafe, or habitually
reckless or negligent driver of a motor vehicle;
(3) has permitted an unlawful or fraudulent
use of his license; [or]
(4) has permitted an offense in another
State that, if committed in this State, would be grounds
for suspension or revocation[.]; OR
