157Q.
(a) Competitive motor vehicles engaged in
organized racing may purchase gasoline with a lead
content in excess of that prohibited by this subtitle but
only at the actual racing site.
(b) Operators of pleasure boats, work boats,
airplanes, all farm equipment, and construction equipment
may purchase gasoline with a lead content in excess of
that prohibited by this subtitle, but only for use in
said boats, airplanes, farm or construction equipment.
157R.
This subtitle as it applies to removal of lead in
gasoline shall not affect the sale, distribution or use
of any motor vehicle fuel other than gasoline, nor shall
it affect the sale or distribution of gasoline for the
purposes described in § 157Q of this article.
157S.
Any person, copartnership or corporation, or any
member, officer, agent or employee of any copartnership
or corporation who shall knowingly violate any provisions
of this subtitle or aid or assist in the violation, shall
be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof,
shall be punishable by a fine of not less than one
hundred dollars ($100.00) or not more than five thousand
dollars ($5,000.00), or imprisonment for not less than
ten (10) days or more than one (1) year, or both.
157T.
The Attorney General may institute civil proceedings
in the courts to revoke the permit authorizing any
foreign corporation to carry on business in this State,
or to enjoin the operation of any business when the
provisions of this subtitle are violated.
157U.
Prior to January 1, 1972, the Governor of Maryland
shall send to the President of the United States a
message on behalf of the people of Maryland urgently
requesting that the President work with the automotive
industry to expedite production of an alternative to the
internal combustion engine as a power source for
automobiles.]

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977.
