might be "available to moving traffic".
The only other changes are in style.
For similar, additional provisions relating to
interference with bicyclists, see §21-1209 of
this title.
21-1106. RIDING IN MOBILE HOMES.
(A) RIDING PROHIBITED.
A PERSON MAY NOT OCCUPY ANY MOBILE HOME WHILE IT IS
BEING TOWED ON A HIGHWAY.
(B) DUTIES OF DRIVER.
THE DRIVER OF A VEHICLE MAY NOT PERMIT ANY PERSON
TO OCCUPY A MOBILE HOME THAT IS BEING TOWED ON A HIGHWAY
BY THE DRIVER.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as
Art. 66 1/2, §11-1106.
The term "mobile home" is substituted for
"house trailer". See §11—134 of this title.
The only other changes are in style.
The Commission questions whether this section,
by limited applicability to "mobile homes",
might not be more narrow than desired. Is
there any real difference between riding in a
"mobile home" than, for example, a "travel
trailer" (see §11-170 of this article) or
similar vehicle. The General Assembly may
wish to consider some of the variations
adopted by other states in this regard. For
example, Virginia includes an express
reference to "camping trailers"; Maine
prohibits riding in any "trailer {or}
semitrailer" except for farm trailers or for
an employee in the necessary discharge of his
duties; and Alaska and Washington both ban
riding in any "trailer" unless the occupant is
steering a vehicle designed to be steered from
a rear—end position (cf., Traffic Laws
Annotated, §11-1107).
21-1107. RESERVED.
21-1108. COASTING PROHIBITED.
(A) VEHICLES GENERALLY.
IF A MOTOR VEHICLE IS TRAVELING ON A DOWNGRADE, THE
DRIVER OF THE MOTOR VEHICLE MAY NOT COAST WITH THE GEARS
OR TRANSMISSION IN NEUTRAL.
