The term "emergency vehicle" is substituted
for "authorized emergency vehicle"; see
§11-118 of this article.
In subsection (a) of this section, the phrase
"unless otherwise directed..." is transferred
to clarify its application to each of the
enumerated duties, not merely that specified
in item (3) of the subsection.
Subsection (b)(2) of this section is new
language added to conform to the otherwise
identical provisions of §21-106(d) of this
title.
The only other changes are in style.
As to stopping for a school vehicle, see
§21-706 of this title.

SUBTITLE 5. PEDESTRIANS' RIGHTS AND RULES.
21-501. PEDESTRIANS SUBJECT TO TRAFFIC REGULATIONS.
AT AN INTERSECTION, A PEDESTRIAN IS SUBJECT TO ALL
TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNALS, AS PROVIDED IN §§ 21-202 AND
21-203 OF THIS TITLE. HOWEVER, AT ANY OTHER PLACE, A
PEDESTRIAN HAS THE RIGHTS AND IS SUBJECT TO THE
RESTRICTIONS STATED IN THIS TITLE.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as
Art. 66 1/2, §11-501.
A reference to §21—203 of this title, which
relates to pedestrian control signals, is
added for more accurate specificity. This
conforms to the similar reference in the
Uniform Vehicle Code counterpart to this
section.
The only other changes are in style.
For additional provisions on the rights of
pedestrians, see, also, §21-705 of this title.
21-502. PEDESTRIANS' RIGHT-OF-WAY IN CROSSWALKS.
