shall take effect July 1, 1976.

AN ACT concerning

Election Code — Fair Election Practices

FOR the purpose of relating generally to the length of
time that books, records, reports, statements, and
accounts relating to campaign contributions and
expenditures of candidates for political office are
required to be kept, and by whom; and clarifying
language.

BY repealing and re-enacting, with amendments,

Article 33 — Election Code

Section 26-7(a) and 26-14

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1971 Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Sections 26-7 (a) and 26-14 of Article 33 -
Election Code, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971
Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement) be and they are
hereby repealed and re—enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

Article 33 — Election Code

26-7.

(a) Every treasurer and every subtreasurer shall
keep detailed, full and accurate accounts in a proper
book or books, to be called "account books," to be
provided and preserved by him, of all contributions,
money or valuable things received by or promised to, and
of all expenditures, disbursements and promises of
payment or disbursements of money or valuable things made
