transportation of persons injured in accidents or wrecks,
and physicians and nurses attending such persons, and
other necessary caretakers in transit; transportation of
children under five years of age free of charge, and
children under twelve years of age for half fare; any
transportation free, or at reduced rates otherwise
authorized by law; issuance of mileage, excursion, school
commutation or commutation passenger tickets, or joint
interchangeable mileage tickets, with special provisions
as to the amount of free baggage that may be carried
under mileage tickets of one hundred miles or more.
(5) To free steamboat excursion
transportation during May, June, July and August of every
year, from Baltimore City to any place in this State, in
exchange for services rendered in advertising said
excursion business.
(6) TO OBTAIN ESSENTIAL DATA, THROUGH A
METHOD EMPLOYING A LIMITED SAMPLE OF CUSTOMERS, IN
CONNECTION WITH A RATE STRUCTURE STUDY CONDUCTED UNDER
FORMAL PROCEEDINGS BEFORE THE COMMISSION.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and
necessary for the immediate preservation of the public
health and safety and having been passed by a yea and nay
vote supported by three—fifths of all the members elected
to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly, the
same shall take effect from the date of its passage.
