AN ACT concerning

Bills of Lading and Warehouse Receipts — Penalties

FOR the purpose of deleting certain minimum penalties
from the laws governing bills of lading and
warehouse receipts.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Section 18-401(a)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1975 Volume and 1975 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 18-401 (a) of Article - Commercial
Law, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1975 Volume and
1975 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed and
reenacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

Article - Commercial Law

18-401.

(a) Any person who violates any provision of §§
18-201 (a) or 18-301 (a) of this title is guilty of a
misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to a fine [of
not less than $1,000 and not more than] NOT EXCEEDING
$5,000.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1976.
