Article 32 - Dentistry

Section 25B

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1971 Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 25B be and it is hereby added
to Article 32 — Dentistry, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement) to
read as follows:

Article 32 — Dentistry

25B.

(A) A PERSON IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY CIVIL DAMAGES
BECAUSE OF THE COMMUNICATION OF INFORMATION IN HIS
POSSESSION TO ANY HOSPITAL, HOSPITAL MEDICAL STAFF,
PROFESSIONAL SOCIETY, DENTAL SCHOOL, OR PROFESSIONAL
LICENSING BOARD, WHEN THE COMMUNICATION IS MADE IN GOOD
FAITH AND IS INTENDED TO AID IN THE EVALUATION OF THE
QUALIFICATIONS, FITNESS, OR CHARACTER OF A DENTIST AND
DOES NOT REPRESENT AS TRUE ANY MATTER NOT REASONABLY
BELIEVED TO BE TRUE.

(B)    FOR PURPOSES OF THIS SECTION, "PERSON" MEANS
IN-HOSPITAL STAFF COMMITTEES, CREDENTIALS COMMITTEE OF A
HOSPITAL (OR ITS EQUIVALENT), CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF
A HOSPITAL, DEAN OF ANY DENTAL SCHOOL LOCATED IN
MARYLAND, MEMBERS OF THE STATE BOARD OF DENTAL EXAMINERS,
MEMBERS OF THE MARYLAND STATE DENTAL ASSOCIATION, AND
MEMBERS OF THE MARYLAND DENTAL SOCIETY.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1976.

(House Bill 20)

AN ACT concerning

Mortgages — Delivery by Borrower

FOR the purpose of requiring a purchase—money mortgage or
a deed of trust to contain the oath of the party
secured that the loan has been paid over to the
borrower no later than the delivery of the mortgage
or deed of trust by the borrower.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
