SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 130(g)(4) be and it is hereby
added to Article 43 — Health, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement) to
read as follows:
Article 43 - Health
130.
(g) (4) TO FACILITATE THE INVESTIGATION AND
PROSECUTION OF CASES COMING BEFORE IT, THE COMMISSION MAY
ENTER INTO CONTRACTS FOR THE PURCHASE OF INVESTIGATORY
AND RELATED SERVICES AND TO MAKE THESE SERVICES AVAILABLE
TO THE MEDICAL AND CHIRURGICAL FACULTY OF THE STATE OF
MARYLAND, ITS COMMITTEES, AND LOCAL COUNTY MEDICAL
SOCIETIES. IN ADDITION, THE COMMISSION MAY ENTER INTO
CONTRACTS WITH THE MEDICAL AND CHIRURGICAL FACULTY OF THE
STATE OF MARYLAND, ITS COMMITTEES, AND LOCAL COUNTY
MEDICAL SOCIETIES, FOR THE PURCHASE FROM THOSE
ORGANIZATIONS OF INVESTIGATORY AND RELATED SERVICES WHICH
SHALL INCLUDE, BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO, INVESTIGATORS,
ATTORNEYS, ACCOUNTANTS, EXPERT WITNESSES, CONSULTANTS,
AND THE ORDINARY AND REASONABLE EXPENSES OF THE PERSONS
FROM WHOM THESE SERVICES MAY BE PURCHASED.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1976.
