(House Joint Resolution No. 118)

A House Joint Resolution concerning

Banks — Extended Hours

FOR the purpose of requesting that banks extend their
hours for the convenience of customers throughout
the State of Maryland.

Many residents of Maryland have jobs or other
important commitments which make their utilization of
needed banking services difficult or impossible during
normal weekday hours. Some banks have acted to alleviate
this hardship by adding evening and Saturday hours, but
many communities are entirely without such services; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That
all banks in Maryland are requested to implement a
schedule of customer service hours which includes at
least two evening openings per week, or one evening and a
Saturday opening per week, and that banks currently
providing such services continue to do so; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That all banks provide such extended hours
uniformly and in every community which they serve; and be
it further

RESOLVED, That 200 copies of this Resolution be sent
to the Banking Commissioner of the State of Maryland with
the request that he distribute one copy to the President
of each bank in this State.

of Baltimore to study job related injuries among
sanitation workers.

Recent studies have shown that sanitation workers
are exposed to numerous job related hazards. In fact, it
