the legislature to continue the purposes for which the
funds are made available.

(b) The Department shall include the Commission in
its annual budget.

The Commission shall submit an annual report to the
Governor and legislature through the Secretary of the
Department of [Employment and Social Services] HUMAN
RESOURCES and shall include recommendations based on its
studies.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1976.

AN ACT concerning

Commission on Afro—American and Indian History
and Culture

FOR the purpose of changing the dual purpose commission
into a single purpose commission to be known as The
Commission on Afro—American History and Culture;
providing for the reimbursement of expenses incurred
by commissioners; making the commission permanent;
renumbering as appropriate; and deleting references
to Indian from the subtitle.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 409 to be under the amended
subtitle "Commission on Afro—American History and
Culture" of Article 41 — Governor — Executive and
Administrative Departments, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement) be
