Baltimore City - Court House Security
FOR the purpose of making the Sheriff of Baltimore City
the Chief of Court House Security; transferring the
Office of Court House Security to the Sheriff's
Office of Baltimore City; permitting the Sheriff of
Baltimore City to appoint certain employees to the
Division of Court House Security; to permit the
Sheriff of Baltimore City to promulgate certain
requirements, rules, and regulations for the
Division of Court House Security; putting certain
expenses of the Division of Court House Security in
the budget of the Sheriff's Office of Baltimore
City; providing for the policy to be used in making
new appointments to the Division of Court House
Security; and generally relating to transferring the
Division of Court House Security to the Sheriff's
Office of Baltimore City.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
The Public Local Laws of Baltimore City
Section 22-6, 22-7, 22-8, 22-10, and 2 2-11
Article 4 — Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1969 Edition, as amended)
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Sections 22-6, 22-7, 22-8, 22-10, and
22-11 of the Public Local Laws of Baltimore City being
Article 4 of the Public Local Laws of Maryland (1969
Edition, as amended) be and they are hereby repealed and
reenacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
Article 4
22-6.
A division of Court House Security is created within
the [Administrative Office of the Supreme Bench]
SHERIFF'S OFFICE of Baltimore City. THE SHERIFF OF
BALTIMORE CITY IS THE CHIEF OF COURT HOUSE SECURITY.
22-7.
[The Supreme Bench of Baltimore City shall appoint,
as Chief of the Court House Security Division, a
qualified person who shall serve during its pleasure and
receive such compensation as shall be approved by the
Supreme Bench and is provided from time to time in its
annual operating budget. The Supreme Bench of Baltimore
City, upon the recommendation of the Chief of the Court
House Security Division, approved by the Administrator,]
THE SHERIFF OF BALTIMORE CITY shall appoint [such] OTHER
Court Security Officers and other employees as [the
Supreme Bench from time to time shall determine to be]
ARE necessary, who shall serve at [its] HIS pleasure.
