AN ACT concerning
Food Stamp Program
FOR the purpose of providing for administration of the
food stamp program by the Social Services
Administration on refusal or failure of the local
subdivision to administer or finance its program;
providing for recovery by the State for its costs in
administering the program; and generally relating to
the food stamp program.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 88 of Article 88A - Social
Services Administration, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1969 Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement) be
and it is hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:
Article 88A — Social Services Administration
88.
(a) The Social Services Administration may
implement, in accordance with the provisions of the
Federal Food Stamp Act, a food stamp program in which the
City of Baltimore and all counties of the State shall
participate[.] AND FOR WHICH THE CITY AND COUNTIES SHALL
BEAR THE NONFEDERAL PORTION OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS
FOR THEIR RESPECTIVE JURISDICTIONS. The food stamp
program shall be administered by the City of Baltimore
and all counties of the State under the supervision and
control of the Social Services Administration and in
conformity with the rules and regulations of the Social
Services Administration and applicable federal statutes,
rules and regulations.
(b) If requested by the Social Services
Administration, the City of Baltimore and all counties of
the State shall enter into a written agreement with the
