penalties of Section 483 and 485 of Article 27 of the
Code of Public General Laws.]

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section
37—3 of the Public Local Laws of Garrett County being
Article 12 of the Public Local Laws of Maryland (1971
Edition, as amended) be and it is hereby repealed and
reenacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

Article 12

37-3.

(a)    Notwithstanding any provision of any Public
General or Public Local Law, it shall be lawful to show
or exhibit motion pictures in Garrett County on Sundays
after the hour of [8 o'clock p.m., and at no other time
during such day,] 2 O'CLOCK P.M., with or without a
charge or admission fee, provided, however, that such
exhibitions shall be subject to all provisions of law
relating to licensing and censorship applicable to motion
picture exhibitions on week days. The work or employment
of any operator, ticket—seller or other employee or
attendant in connection with such exhibition shall not be
unlawful because performed on Sunday.

(b)    Any such exhibition on Sunday except as hereby
authorized shall be subject to the provisions and
penalties of Sections [578] 492 and [605] 522 of Article
27 of the Code of Public General Laws.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section
520 of Article 27 — Crimes and Punishments, of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and
1975 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed:

Article 27 — Crimes and Punishments

[520.

Nothing contained in § 492 of this article shall be
construed to prohibit or make unlawful the playing of any
game of golf or baseball or the racing of stock cars in
Garrett County after the hour of 1 p.m. and before the
hour of 6 p.m. on the first day of the week, commonly
called Sunday whether the same be exhibited with or
without a charge or admission fee, providing, however,
that no game of baseball or no race of stock cars shall
be played or run at any time on the first day of the
week, commonly known as Sunday, which is in conflict with
any special church service in the vicinity of such game
or race. The work or employment of any operator, ticket
seller, or other employee or attendant in connection with
such game or race shall not be unlawful because performed
on Sunday.]
