AN ACT concerning

Flood Control — Watershed Management

FOR the purpose of providing a procedure for determining
interim flood hazard areas; a system for developing
rules and regulations governing uses within flood
hazard areas; a procedure for establishing and
completing a comprehensive study of watersheds
within the State; a procedure for establishing and
implementing management programs for the several
watersheds of the State; defining various terms;
establishing the responsibilities of various persons
and agencies; providing for penalties for certain
violations; providing for enforcement of certain
penalties; and generally relating to flood control
and watershed management.

BY adding to

Article — Natural Resources

Section 8-9A01 through [[8-9A10]] 8-9A11, inclusive,

to be under the new subtitle, "Subtitle 9A.

Flood Control and Watershed Management"
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1974 Volume and 19 75 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Sections 8-9A01 through [[8-9A10]]
8—9A11, inclusive, to be under the new subtitle,
"Subtitle 9A. Flood Control and Watershed Management" be
and they are hereby added to Article — Natural
Resources, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1974 Volume
and 1975 Supplement) to read as follows:

SUBTITLE 9A. FLOOD CONTROL AND WATERSHED
MANAGEMENT

8-9A01. DEFINITIONS.

(A)   IN THIS SUBTITLE, THE FOLLOWING TERMS HAVE THE
MEANINGS INDICATED.

(B)   "AREA OF NONTIDAL INUNDATION" MEANS AN AREA
WITHIN THE STATE WHICH IS SUBJECT TO INUNDATION CAUSED
