by the Secretary of Personnel, and provided in the State
budget. Truck patrolmen shall be compensated at not less
than pay grade [nine] 11 of the State of Maryland salary
structure for graded State employees as promulgated by
the Secretary of Personnel pursuant to Article 64A, § 27,
of the Annotated Code of Maryland.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1976.

CHAPTER 594

(Senate Bill 606)

AN ACT concerning

Automatic Fire Extinguishing Systems

FOR the purpose of requiring certain buildings which
house a certain number of occupants who are unable
to evacuate the buildings in case of fire without
assistance to have automatic fire extinguishing
systems throughout [[certain parts of]] the
buildings by a certain [[dates]] date; defining
certain terms; providing certain penalties for
violations; and providing for a certain exception
[[; allowing persons to recover damages for losses
suffered by reason of a violation]].

BY adding to

Article 38A — Fires and Investigations

Section 53, 54, and 55 to be under the new

subtitle "Buildings Housing Occupants Needing

Evacuation Assistance"

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1971 Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Sections 53, 54, and 55 to be under
the new subtitle "Buildings Housing Occupants Needing
Evacuation Assistance" be and they are hereby added to
Article 38A — Fires and Investigations, of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and 1975
Supplement) to read as follows:

BUILDINGS HOUSING OCCUPANTS NEEDING EVACUATION
