as the "Vestry Act"), the present references
to them "as from time to time amended" are
deleted as unnecessary in light of Art. 1, §
21 of the code.

Section 2 of Chapter 653, Acts of 1973, which
first enacted present Art. 23, § 275 provides
that "nothing herein contained has any
application to parishes and separate
congregations within the Diocese of Easton or
the Diocese of Washington of the Protestant
Episcopal Church within the State of
Maryland." As to provisions governing the
Diocese of Easton and the Diocese of

Washington, see Chs. _____ and ___,

respectively, Acts of 1976.

As to subsection (b) (2) of this section and
the parishes and separate congregations
described in it, see, also, Article III, §48
of the State Constitution.

5-334. REGULATION OF AFFAIRS.

(A)       BYLAWS.

(1)       EACH RELIGIOUS CORPORATION SUBJECT TO
THIS PART MAY ADOPT BYLAWS TO GOVERN ITS CORPORATE AND
TEMPORAL AFFAIRS, INCLUDING THE QUALIFICATIONS OF VOTERS
AT CONGREGATIONAL MEETINGS AND THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A
MINIMUM VOTING AGE OF NOT LESS THAN 16.

(2)       BYLAWS MAY BE ADOPTED IF APPROVED BY A
MAJORITY OF THE QUALIFIED VOTERS VOTING AT A REGULAR OR
SPECIAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING CALLED FOR THAT PURPOSE.

(B)       DISCIPLINE OF CHURCH.

EACH RELIGIOUS CORPORATION SUBJECT TO THIS PART IS
SUBJECT AT ALL TIMES TO:

(1)            THE ORGANIZATION, GOVERNMENT, AND
DISCIPLINE OF THE PROTESTANT EPISCOPAL CHURCH IN THE
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA; AND

(2)          THE CONSTITUTION AND CANONS OF THAT
CHURCH AND OF THE CONVENTION OF THE PROTESTANT EPISCOPAL
CHURCH IN THE DIOCESE OF MARYLAND.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from the last
sentence of Art. 23, §275(b) and the first two
sentences of § 275(d).
