SECTION [[3.]] 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That
this Act shall take effect July 1, 1976.

AN ACT concerning

Garrett County - Sunday Sales

FOR the purpose of excepting Garrett County from the
prohibitions on the Sunday sale of merchandise, with
a certain exception; and providing for an emergency
effective date.

BY adding to

Article 27 — Crimes and Punishments
Section 521(m)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 521 (m) be and it is hereby
added to Article 27 — Crimes and Punishments, of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and
1975 Supplement) to read as follows:

Article 27 — Crimes and Punishments

521.

(M) NOTWITHSTANDING ANY PROVISION TO THE CONTRARY,
THIS SECTION DOES NOT APPLY TO GARRETT COUNTY. HOWEVER,
A DEALER MAY NOT SELL A NEW OR USED AUTOMOBILE OR TRUCK
ON SUNDAY.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and
necessary for the immediate preservation of the public
