provided by this subtitle[, may in the discretion of the
Board, without further examination receive a certificate
conferring on the holder thereof all the rights, and
privileges conferred by this subtitle. Provided,
however, that the provisions of this].

(B) THIS section shall be applicable and extended
only to those nonresidents whose states by law extend to
residents of Maryland the privileges conferred upon
nonresidents under this section.

[487.] 486.

[It shall be the duty of the police commissioner of
Baltimore City, and of the sheriff of each county in the
State, to see that all persons treating the human foot in
this State shall be legally registered podiatrists
according to the provisions of this subtitle, and to
report to the Board of Podiatry Examiners and State's
attorney of the city or county all cases of the violation
of this subtitle, whereupon the State's attorney shall
promptly prosecute those violating any of the provisions
of this subtitle.]

THE BOARD SHALL INVESTIGATE ANY ALLEGATION OF
NONLICENSED PRACTICE OF PODIATRY.           IF THE BOARD

DETERMINES THAT NONLICENSED PRACTICE OF PODIATRY HAS
OCCURRED, IT SHALL REPORT THE ALLEGED VIOLATION TO THE
STATE'S ATTORNEY FOR BALTIMORE CITY OR FOR ANY OTHER
COUNTY WHERE THE ALLEGED VIOLATION OCCURRED.

[488.] 487.

(A) [From and after June 1, 1945, any] ANY person
[not heretofore authorized] DESIRING A LICENSE to
practice podiatry in this State [and desiring to enter
upon such practice,] shall [file with] PAY TO the [said]
Board [of Podiatry Examiners, upon payment of] a fee as
determined by the [said] board with the approval of the
Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene, AND FILE WITH THE
BOARD a written application for examination[, together
with] AND satisfactory proof that the applicant is not
less than eighteen years of age, is of good moral
character and has obtained a preliminary education of
four years' instruction in a high school and two years'
instruction in a college of liberal arts or sciences.
[The fact that such instruction has been received by the
applicant must be evidenced by a certificate satisfactory
to the said Board of Podiatry Examiners. Such] THE
applicant [must] also[, before presenting him or herself
for examination,] SHALL be a graduate of a reputable and
legally incorporated school or college of chiropody or
podiatry, acceptable to the Board AND SHALL FILE WITH THE
BOARD A CERTIFICATE ACCEPTABLE TO THE BOARD AS EVIDENCE
OF SATISFACTORY COMPLETION OF THIS INSTRUCTION.
[Thereupon the said] THE BOARD THEN SHALL ADMIT THE
applicant [shall be subjected] to an examination.
