In the unnumbered line following line 1189 on page
27 of the first reading file bill after "thereof", insert
"or for the four cents per ounce imposed on cigars".

In the unnumbered line following line 1194 on page
27 of the first reading file bill after "(102).", insert
"In addition, all cigars held for sale by any person in
this State on and after the effective date of this Act
shall be stamped with the stamps necessary to make the
aggregate value equal to four cents per ounce for
cigars".

In the unnumbered line following line 1200 on page
27 of the first reading file bill after "Act.", insert
"In addition, the Comptroller may provide an alternative
method of collecting the cigar tax. Except as provided
above on and after the effective date of this Act, a
Maryland stamp may not be used except the stamp issued by
the Comptroller to evidence the statewide tax on cigars
imposed by this Act.".

Amendment No. 8 —

In line 1205 on page 27 of the first reading   file

bill after "tax", insert ", creating a cigar tax,".       In

the unnumbered line following line 1207 on the same   page
after "tax", insert ", creating a cigar tax,".
