And Assumption Afsd. made not minding or regarding but plotting contriving and fraudulently
[de]signing ye Said William of ye Afsd. Seven hundred forty Eight pounds of Tobo craftily and
Subtilly to decieve and Defraud ye Afsd. Seven hundred forty eight pounds of Tobo. altho often
demanded unto ye Said William the Said John hath not paid but ye Same to pay that and as yet doth
deny and Unjustly detaine to ye Damage of ye Said William Harris one thousand four hundred
pounds of Tobo. and thereupon he brings this Suite         Macklin pr qr. pleadg &a. Jno Doe Rd Roe

But ye Said Defendt. by Michael Earle his Attry comes into Court & Confesseth Judgemt.
for ye Said Sume of Seven hundred forty & eight pounds of Tobo. debt & Cost of Suite

Therefore it is considered by ye Court here Vizt. ye 28. day of Novemr. Anno Domi.
      1700 That ye Said William Harris Plaint. doe recover from ye Said John Lee Defendt.
      as well ye Sume of Seven hundred forty & eight pounds of Tobo. Debt as alsoe ye Sume
[of] Two hundred Eighty & nine pounds of Tobo. cost of Suite and ye Said John in mercy

Comand was given to ye Sherf. of Kent County ye 25. day of June Annoq Domi. 1700 That he take
Hugh Marsh of Said County if found in his bailiwick & him Safe keep Soe that he have his body before
[our] Justices at ye next Court to be held for our Said County to answer unto James Watson of a plea of Trespass
[u]pon ye Case
Att which next Court Vizt. ye 27. day of August Annoq Domi. 1700 ye Day of ye returne of Said
writt came Elias King high Sherf. of Said County & made returne thereof in these words Vizt

Att which Said day came ye Said Defendant by Michael Earle his Attry ^ & prayes thereof to
Imparle untill ye next Court which was granted unto him ye Same day was was given to the
plaint. alsoe    Macklin pr qr
The which Cause was Cont. from Court to Court untill this prSent Court
and now here at [this day] Vizt. ye 28. day of Novemr. Anno Domi. 1700 Came as well ye Said
Defendant by hi[s Attry Afsd] as alsoe ye Said plaint. by Richard Macklin his Attorney and ye Said
Cause Standing fo[r Tryall ye] plaint. Declares    Vizt.
Kent Ss    Hugh Marsh of Said County Stands Attached to Answer unto James Wattson of A plea of

   Trespass upon ye Case
And whereupon ye Said James by Richard Macklin his Attry Sayes that whereas ye Sd. James ye 30th
[d]ay of Janry Anno Domi. 1697 at Chester River in Said County within ye jurisdiction of this Court

[w]as as of his proper goods possessed of ye quantity of three hundred foot of white oake plank of ^ Six
[h]undred pounds of Tobo. and ye Said James being Soe as Afsd. possessed of ye Afsd. Three hundred foot of plank
