Amounting to y^e Sume of Nine hundred Sixty Eight & a halfe pound of Tob^o. & als
:soe in y^e yeare of our Lord 1698 y^e Said Robert within y^e jurisdiction of this Court did recieve
divers Sumes of Tob^o. due to y^e Said Thomas from Sundry persons Amounting to y^e Sume of four
hundred & Sixty pounds of Tob^o. and likewise y^e Afs^d Thomas at y^e Afs^d. Instance & request of
of y^e Said Robert within y^e jurisdiction of this Court did Serve y^e Said Robert from y^e
fourth day of Ap^ll. Anno Domⁱ. 1698 untill y^e fourth day of August in y^e Same yeare at
y^e rate of fifty Shil^s p^r month which amounts to y^e Sume of Tenn pounds Ster^g. and alsoe at y^e
like instance and request as Afs^d. & within y^e jurisdiction as Afs^d. y^e Said Thomas did Serve y^e
Said Robert from y^e fourth day of Aug^t. Anno Domⁱ. 1698 untill y^e fourth day of Aug^t. Anno
Domⁱ. 1699 at y^e rate of Three pounds Ster^g. for Each month Amounting to y^e Sume of thirty
Six pounds Ster^g. and likewise y^e Said Robert within y^e Jurisdiction Afs^d. in consideracon
that a Certaine Andrew Skinner had drawne an ord^r. upon y^e Said Robert payable to y^e
Said Thomas for y^e Sume of Twenty three Shill^s. & Six penie Ster^g. bearing date y^e third
day of March Anno Domⁱ. 1698 which Said noate or order Soe drawne & to y^e Said Robert
Smith directed y^e Said Robert Afterward did Accept & w^th. his proper hand Subscribe thereby
promising pay of y^e Said one pound Three Shill^s. & Six pence to y^e Said Thomas w^ch. S^d. noate
with y^e Said Roberts Acceptance is here in Court brought all which Sev^ll. Sumes of Tob^o. & money
above recited amounts in y^e whole to y^e Sume of fourteen hundred Twenty eight & A halfe
pounds of Tob^o. and forty Seaven pounds Three Shillings and Six pence Ster^g. as Appeares
by An Acc^t. thereof to this Declⁿ. Annexed & here in Court brought In consideracon whereof y^e
Said Robert Smith upon himselfe Assumed & unto y^e Said Thomas Mann faithfully promised y^t
he y^e Said Robert when thereunto Afterwards by y^e Said Thomas he Should be required y^e Said
Sume of fourteen hundred Twenty Eight & A halfe pounds of Tob^o. & forty Seaven pounds
three Shill^s. & Six pence Ster^g. well & Truly he would pay yet nevertheless y^e Said Robert y^e
Afs^d. Sume of fourteen hundred Twenty Eight & A halfe pounds of Tob^o. & forty Seaven pounds
three Shill^s. & Six pence Ster^g. according to his Afs^d. promise & Assumption altho often by
y^e Said Thomas Demanded hath not paid but y^e Same to him to pay he hath & Still doth deny
& refuse to y^e Damage of y^e Said Thomas Mann Two thousand Eight hundred pounds of Tob^o &
Eighty pounds Ster^g. and thereupon he brings this Suite     Macklin p^r q^r. pledg &^a.    Jn^o Doe
