John Hawkins untill he come of age Jno Dowdall Clk Arthur Arnald Servant to Capt. Wm Hackett coming into ye Country without Indentures and being brought to Court to have his age Adjudged The Court upon view of ye Said Servant doe adjudge him to be of ye age of Thirteen yeares and ordered to Serve his Said master according to Act of Assembly in that Case made & provided Jno Dowdall Clk Abraham Ambrose Senr. Acknowledges a Deed of Guift to his wife Elioner of one hundred acres of Land purchased by him from Mr. James Wroth John Hurt Appointed overseer of ye high ways for Swan Creek hundred George Foxon Appointed overseer of ye high ways for Easter Neck hundred Henry Morgan Appointed overseer of ye high ways for Lower Langfords Bay hundred Nicholas Clouds Appointed overseer of ye high ways for Towne hundred Samll. Taylor comes into Court & Assumes ye paymt. of halfe ye fees Accrewing upon an Action brought by ye Said Samll. Taylor against Andrew Hambletowne The Court Adjournes till Seaven A Clock To Morrow morning March ye 26th. The Court againe Meetts
Appearance Doquett Called Jean Annis Sworne to tell ye father of her Children doe Say that Patrick Bryan is ye father of her base borne Children Leiut. Coll. Thomas Smith and Mr. Phillip Hopkins both Sitts Ordered by ye Court that Jean Annis and Pattrick Bryan be Comitted into ye Sherfs. Custody and by ye Said Sherf. to be carried to ye whipping post and there to recieve one and Twenty lashes upon theire baire backs Each of them well laid on Jno Dowdall Clk Motion being mad[e to ye] Court on behalfe of John Sweatnam that he might have an ordr. for Satisfaction for [ye troub]le of his house & loss of Time from ye Said Servants which was granted unto him And Ordered That ye Said Jean Annis & Patrick Bryan doe Serve theire Master Jno Sweatnam after ye Expiracon of theire time of Servitude ye Space of Three monthes Each of them for the loss of Time & Trouble of his house Sustained when ye Said Jean Annis was with child & in Child bedd Jno Dowdall Clk The Court Adjournes for halfe an houre The Court againe Sitts Solomon Wright when not being on ye bench before ^ ye Court Adjourned now Takes his Place |
