Comand was given To ye Coroner of Kent County in Novemr. Court 1698 alsoe in Janry
Court following likewise in June Court 1700 Augt. Novemr. & Sepr. Courts following
that he Take James Williames alius Dictus James Williames of Kent County in ye province
of Maryland Planter if found in his bailiwick & him Safe keepe Soe that he have his
body before his Majties Justices at ye next Courts to be held for Said County
to answer unto Elias King Exr. of ye last will & Testamt. of Edwd. Sweatnam late
of Kent County Gentn Decd. who was Exr. of ye last will & Testamt. of Richard Sweatnm.
late of Talbott County Gentn Decd. of A plea that he render him ye full & just Sume of
four thousand and eighty nine pounds of good Sound Merchantable Leafe Tobo in Casque
which from him he unjustly Detaines
Att which next Courts ye days of ye returnes of Said writts came Thomas Smith
one of ye Coroners of Said County & made returne thereof    Non est Inventus
                                                                                                     pr Thomas Smith Corr.
Comand was likewise given to ye Coroner of Kent County ye 29. day of Novemr. Annoq
Domi 1700 That he Take James Williames alius dictus James Williames of Talbott
County in ye province of Maryland Planter if found in his bailiwick & him Safe keepe
Soe that you have his body before his Majties at ye next Court to be held for Said County
to answer unto Elias King Exr. of ye last will & Testamt. of Edwd. Sweatnam late of

Which next Court being and Adjourned Court all actions were contd & all precepts
warrants & other processes were contd in ye Sherf. Coroners & Constables untill ye Elevnth.

Att which day vizt. ye 11. day of Febry Anno Domi. 1700 ye Day of ye returne of Sd.
writt according to Adjournemt. came John Whittington one of ye Coroners of Said County
and made returne thereof thus Endorsed vizt. Cepi pr    Jno Whittington Coroner
On which Said day vizt. ye 11. day of Febry Afsd. ye Said defendt. James Williames
by Michael Earle his Attry Appeares & prayes thereof to Imparle untill ye next
Court which was Granted him ye Same day was given ye plaintf alsoe
The which cause was Contdfrom Court to Court untill this prsent Court and now here
at this day vizt. ye 28 day of Novemr. Anno Domi. 1701 came as well ye Said Defendt. by
his Said Attry as alsoe ye Said Plaintf by Richard Macklin his Attry and ye Said Cause
Standing for Tryall ye Plaintf. Decln ~~~ vizt
Kent Ss    James Williames alius dictus James Williames of Talbott County in ye province
                of Maryland Planter was Sumoned to Answer unto Elias King Exr. of ye last will
                & Testamt. of Edward Sweatnam late of Kent County Gentn Decd. who was Exr. of
                ye last will & Testamt. of Richard Sweatnam late of Talbott County Afsd. Gentn.
                Decd. of A plea that he render him ye full & just Sume of four Thousand and
                Eighty nine pounds of good Sound Merchantable leafe Tobo. in Casque wch. from
                him he unjustly Detaines
And whereupon ye Said Elias King in his Afsd. capacity by Richard Macklin his Attry Saith
that whereas ye Said James Williames ye 22th. day of Octor. Anno Domi 1694 at Kent County
within ye jurisdiction of this Court by his certaine bill or writeing obligatory Sealed wth. his Seale
as his act & deed delivered and here into Court brought whose date is ye day & yeare Afsd. Did
