Ordered That ye Road from Nathanll. Wrights to ye maine Road respecting the
ferry path be continued as formerly before plantacons Seated there Jno Dowdall Clk

Comand was given to ye Sherf. of Kent County ye 23d. day of Sepr. Anno Domi. 1701 that he
Take James Theslewood of Said County planter if found in his bailiwick & him Safe Keepe
Soe that he have his body before our Justices at ye next Court to be held for Said
County to answer unto Giles Bond of A plea of Trespass upon ye Case

Att which next Court vizt. ye 25. day of Novemr. Anno Domi. 1701 ye day of ye
returne of Said writt came Elias King high Sherf. of Said County & made returne
thereof in these words vizt. Non East Inventus pr    Elias King Sherf.
But a copie of ye Decln. being Sent along with ye writt was as followeth
Kent County in Maryland Ss       James Theslewood of Said County planter Stands Attached to
                                                Answer unto Giles Bond of a plea of Trespass upon the case
And Whereupon ye Said Giles Bond by Richard Macklin his Attry complaineth and
Saith that Whereas ye Said Giles Bond on ye 25th. day of July as alsoe on ye 23. day of Sepr
Annoq Domi. 1701 at Chester River in Said County within ye jurisdiction of this Court at ye Espll.
Instance and Request of him ye Said James Theslewood Sold & delivered unto ye Said James
Theslewood divers goods wares & Merchandizes as by an Acct. thereof to this Decln. annexed & here
into Court brought ye Same appeares amounting in ye whole to ye Sume of 908lb. Tobo. in con:
:sideracon whereof ye Said James upon himselfe Assumed & unto ye Said Giles Bond then and
there faithfully promised that he ye Said James when thereunto Afterwards required ye Said
Sume of 908lb Tobo. well & Truly he would pay yet notwithstanding ye Said James his prmise
& Assumption before made not minding nor regarding but plotting contriveing & knavishly
designing ye Said Sume of 908lb. Tobo. craftily & Subtilly to deceive & defraud ye Said Sume
of 908lb. of Tobo. unto ye Said Giles Bond he hath not paid altho often demanded but ye Same to
pay hath denyed & refused & Still doth deny & refuse & unjustly detaine to ye damage of ye
Said Gile Bond 1816lb. of Tobo and there upon he brings this Suite ~ ~ Jno Doe Rd. Roe
