Jn^o Hyde	And y^e Said Defend^t. by Michael Earle his Att^ry comes & defends the force
a^st.	and injury when &^a. ~~ And for plea Saith that y^e acc^t. in y^e Plaint^f.
Lawrence Grose	Declⁿ. menconed is not proved according to Act of Assembly &^a. And
	therefore prays Judjudgem^t. &^a. ~~ Earle p^r Defend^t.

And y^e Afs^d. plaint^f. by his Said Att^ry for replicacon Sayes that y^e Acc^t. in y^e plaint^f.
is proved according to act of Assembly & thereupon prays Judg^t. Macklin p^r q^r
The which plea Declⁿ. probatt acc^t. & replicacon being read & argued & by y^e Court
duely considered y^e Said probatt anexed to y^e Afs^d. acc^t. was thought by y^e Court to
be a good & Suffitient proofe and y^e Said Defend^t. making noe further Defence
Judgem^t. is awarded is awarded to y^e Said Plaint^f. for y^e Said ball^e. & cost

Therefore it is Considered by y^e Court here viz^t. this 27. day of Novem^r. Annoq
Domⁱ. 1701 that y^e Said Plaint^f. John Hyde doe recover from y^e Said Defend^t.
Lawrance Grose as well y^e Sume of fifty three pounds five Shillings &
Tenn pence Ster^g. Debt due upon ball^e. as alsoe y^e Sume of Three hundred forty &
and Seaven pounds of Tob^o. cost of Suite & y^e Said Lawrence in mercy

Comand was given to y^e Sher^f. of Kent County y^e 25. day of June Annow Domⁱ. 1701
that he Take W^m Sparkes alius dictus W^m Sparks Jun^r. of Chester in y^e County of Kent
if found in his bailiwick & him Safe keepe Soe that he have his body before his Maj^ties Justices
at y^e next Court to be held for Said County to answer unto Flower Walker in A plea that
he render unto him y^e full & just Sume of Two hundred & Sixty pounds of good Sound
merchantable leafe Tob^o. which &^a.
The which next Court being an Adjourned Court all precepts & Warrants were Cont^d. in y^e Sher^f.
Coroner & Constables Hands untill y^e 23 day of Sep^r. following
On which Said day being y^e day of y^e returne of Said writt According to Adjournem^t. came
Elias King high Sher^f. and made returne thereof in these words    Cepi corpus Elias King Sher^f.
Att which Said day y^e Said Defend^t. W^m Sparks Jun^r. by Michael Earle his Att^ry appears
and prayes thereof to Imparle untill y^e next Court which was granted unto him y^e Same
day was given y^e Plaint^f. alsoe
And now here at this day viz^t. y^e 27. day of Novem^r. Anno Domⁱ. 1701 came as well y^e Said
Defend^t. by his Said Att^ry as alsoe y^e Said Plaint^f. by Richard Macklin his Att^ry & the Said
cause Standing for Tryall y^e Plaint^f. Declⁿ. viz^t.
Kent Ss       William Sparkes Jun^r. of Chester river in y^e County of Kent and Province of Mary:
                  :land was Sumoned to answer unto Flower Walker of A plea of Debt
And whereupon y^e Said Plaint^f. by Richard Macklin his Att^ry complaines that Whereas y^e S^d.
William Sparks at Chester River in Kent County within y^e jurisdiction of this Court y^e 31 day
of Octo^r. Anno Domⁱ. 1698 by his certaine bill or writing which is here in Court brought
whose date is y^e Same day & yeare Afs^d. did bind himselfe his heires Ex^rs. Ad^rs. or Assign[es]
to pay unto y^e Said Flower Walker his heires Ex^rs Ad^rs or Assignes or certaine Att^ry y^e
Sume of Two hundred and Sixty pounds of good Sound merchantable leafe Tob^o upon demand
by which action accrewed to y^e Said Flower Walker to have & require of y^e Said William
