37 Ex.d This Indenture made the Twentieth day of November in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and Eighty two Between Clement Hollyday Nathaniel Ramsey and Gabriel Duvall Commissioners appointed to preserve Confiscate British Property of the one part and James Tootell of Ann Arundel County Merchant of the Other part Whereas the aforesaid Commissioners by an act for the Sale of Certain Confiscated British Property pledged for the Redemption of Certificates and an Act entitled an Act To postpone the Sale of Certain Confiscated British Property for the redemption of Certificates were directed to lay off Monococy in Frederick County in Convenient Lots and the Same to sell at Public sale And the Said Commissioners did by virtue and In pursuance of the Said Acts and in Conformity to the Directions thereof Sell the Same on the Tenth day of September last past at which Sale the Aforesaid James Tootell became the Purchasor of Lott Number Twenty two part of the Said Manor he being the highest bidder therefor at and for the Sum of Five hundred and Ten pounds Current money Now This Indenture Witnesseth That the Aforesaid Nathaniel Ramsey Clement Hollyday and Gabriel Duvall for and in Consideration of the aforesaid Sum of Money amounting to the Sum of Two hundred and Ten pounds Current Money Tootell has paid to Thomas Harwood Esquire Treasurer of the Western Shore as appears by his receipts therefor Have Granted Bargained Sold aliened released and Confirmed And by these presents do Grant bargain Sell alien release and Confirm unto the aforesaid James Tootell THe aforesaid Lott of ground Number Twenty five beginning at the end of the Third Line of Crains Lott Number Twelve and running thence South Ten degrees West Fifty five Perches East Fifty five Perches Then North Twenty eight degrees East Sixty four Perches then North Forty eight degrees West Ninety Seven Perches Then North Seventy eight Degrees West Eighty eight Perches to Hodges Lot Number Twenty four and with it South Thirty four Degrees West Fifty Perches Then South Forty five Perches to Crims Lot number Twelve Then with a Straight Line to the Beginning Containing Eighty five acres more or Less (Saving the right if any under a Lease or Leases Granted by the Late Proprietor of the Manor afsaid Together with all and Singular the Appurtenances to the Afd Lot belonging or in any wise appurtaining and the reversion and Reversions remainder and Remainders rents Issues and profits thereof To have and to hold the aforesaid Lott hereby bargained with their Appurtenances (Saving the right before Mentioned if any) unto him the Said James Tootell his heirs and Assigns forever In Witness whereof the Parties hereto have hereunto Set their Hands and Seals the day and Year first Above written Signed Sealed & Delivered Clem.t Hollyday (seal) in Presence Of Nath Ramsey (seal) A C Hanson G Duvall (seal) On the Back of the Above Deed was thus Written (Videlicet) (Maryland) |
