269 At the foot of the aforegoing Deed was written as follows to wit Received the Day and Year Within Mentioned of and from Thomas Usher the sum of Eight hundred Pounds Current Money the Consideration Within Mentioned Witness Thomas Dorsey R Ridgely Evelyn Pierepont County of Baltimore (to wit) on the eighth Day of October 1784 Came before us the subscribers two Justices of the Peace for the County aforesaid the Within named Thomas Dorsey and Evelyn Pierrepont who severally Acknowledged the Within Instrument of Writing as his Act and Deed and the Land and Premisses therein Mentioned to be the right and Estate of the Within named Thomas Usher his Heirs and Assigns for ever according to the true Intent and Meaning thereof Certified before John Moale And Buchanan Baltimore County to wit I hereby Certify that John Moale and Andrew Buchanan Gentlemen before whom the above Acknowledgment was taken and who have thereto subscribed their names were at the day of the date thereof and Still are two Justices of the Peace in and for the County aforesaid and to all Certificates by them given as such due faith and Credit 8½ sides is and ought to be given as well in Courts of Justice as thereout the County In Testimony Whereof I have hereto set my hand and Seal of my Seal Office this twelfth day of October Seventeen hundred and Eighty four William Gibson Clk Balt.o Cot.y Recorded the 28.th November 1784 Know all men by these Presents that we Charles Mankin Francis Ware Stephen Chandler senior William Cox and Horatio Middleton of Charles County are held and firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the full and Just sum of fifteen thousand pounds Current Money to be paid to the said State to which payment well and truly to be made and done we bind ourselves our and each of our Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns Jointly and severally firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this first Day of March Anno Domini one thousand seven hundred and Eighty four The Condition of the above Obligation is such that if the bove bound Charles Mankin shall well and faithfully execute and Perform the several Duties required of him as Collector of the tax for Charles County According to Law then the above Obligation to be Void else to remain in full force and Virtue in Law Charles Mankin (Seal) Signed Sealed and Delivered Fran.s Ware (Seal) in Presence of us Step.n Chandler (Seal) Rich.d Barnes Rob.t Young William Cox (Seal) Henry Barnes G B Clausin Hor.o Middleton (Seal) 2½ Recorded the 2 day of Dec.r 1784 |
