232 from and against him the said John Nelson Gray and his Heirs and from and against all persons whatsoever claiming by from or under him or them or any of them shall and will warrant and for ever Defend firmly by these presents In Witness whereof the said John Nelson Gray hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the Day and Year above written Signed Sealed and Delivered John Nelson Gray (Seal) in the presence of Rich.d Harwood Jun.r W.m Sellman Jun.r At the foot and on the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus written (Viz.t) Received the day and year within written of and from the within named Nicholas Maccubin the sum of five Shillings Current money being the consideration money within mentioned to be by him paid to me Witness John Nelson Gray Rich.d Harwood Jun.r W.m Sellman Jun.r On the twenty ninth day of May 1784 Appeared before us the Subscribers Two of the Justices of Ann Arundel County the within named John Nelson Gray and acknowledged the within Instrument of writing to be his act and Deed and the Land and Premisses thereby Granted or intend so to be to be the property of the within mentioned Nicholas Maccubbin his Heirs and Assigns for ever and at the same time Came Susanah Gray the wife of the said John Nelson Gray and being by us privately examined apart from and out of hearing of her said Husband did freely acknowledg her right of Dower to the withing Land and Premisses without being induced thereto by Fears or Threats of or ill usage from her said Husband or Fear of his Displeasure Taken and Acknowledged before us the Day and year above written 5 sides Allen Quynn Francis Fairbrother Recorded the 19.th July 1784 This Indenture made this eighth Day of July seventeen hundred and eighty four Between Thomas Hawkins Hanson of Prince Georges County Gentlemen & Rebecca his Wife of the one Part & William Baker of the same County physician of the other part Witnesseth that the said Thomas & Rebecca for and in consideration of the sum of one Thousand pounds Current Money to them in hand paid before the sealing & Delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have given granted bargained & Sold unto the said William Baker all their Right title & Interest in and to one undivided moity of one thousand Acres of Land of which the surveyor of Baltimore County returned to the Assembly at their Last Session a Plot and certificate dated May 1.st 1783 whereon he hath certified that he had carefully surveyed & laid down one Thousand Acres of Land for M.rs Rebecca Hanson & Catharine Dulany adjoining the Land granted M.rs Mary Fitzhugh & including the Dwelling Plantation of their father the late Walter Dulany Esq.r deceased agreeably to an Act of Assembly passed for the said purpose at the Last Session which said one thousand Acres of Land are granted to the said Rebecca Hanson and Catharine Dulany now Catharine Belt |
