520 And to all Certificates given by them as such due faith and Credit is and ought to be given as well in Courts of Justice as thereout In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and affixed the Public seal of the County aforesaid the thirteenth day of April seventeen hundred and seventy three (seal) A Lawson Clk Balt.r Cot.y Co.t Received of Sam.l Coale the sum of twelve shillings and five pence sterling being the alienation fine on the within Land for use of the Right Honble Henry Harford Esq.r By virtue of a Commission from Dan.l of S.t Thomas Jenifer Esq.r his said Lordships Agent and receiver General 12 Sides Jn.o Brice Recorded the 3.d of June 1773 x.d This Indenture made this Twenty Eight Day of May one thousand seven hundred and seventy Three Between William Jacob and Mary his wife of the City of Annapolis and Province of Maryland of the one part and James Barnes of the same City and province Gentleman of the Other part Witnesseth that the said William Jacob and Mary his wife for and in consideration of the Sum of Five hundred Pounds Current Money to them in hand paid by the said James Barnes at or before the Ensealing and Delivery hereof the Receipt Whereof they doth hereby acknowledge and themselves therewith fully satisfied Contented and paid Hath Given granted bargained and sold and by these presents Doth give grant bargain and sell unto the said James Barnes His Heirs and Assigns for ever All that tract of Land lying in Baltimore County and known by the Name of Cookes Adventure Resurveyed Containing agreeable to the Metes and bounds thereof Expressed in the patent Granted out of his Lordships Land Office to Rinaldo Monk One hundred and twenty five Acres of Land more or less Also all that undivided Moiety or half part of a Tract of Land Called Monks Discovery Containing by Patent twenty acres of Land more or less Together with an undivided half part of the Grist Mill and Every other Improvement thereon Also all our Right and Title to a Lease Granted to the said Mary by the Name of Mary Jacob Out of his Lordships High Court of Chancery (after Condemnation by Adquod Damnium) for nineteen Acres of Land part of Moules Discovery and one Acre of Land part of Millers Choice Reference being had to said Lease will more Fully and at Large appear To the said James Barnes his Heirs and Assigns for ever To have and to hold the above mentioned Lands and Tenements With their and every of their appurtenances to him the said James Barnes His Heirs and Assigns to his and their own proper use and behoof forever and to and for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever And the said William Jacob and Mary his wife for themselves and their heirs do hereby Covenant promise grant and agree To and with the said James Barnes His Heirs and Assigns that they the said William Jacob and Mary his Wife and their Heirs will for ever hereafter Warrant and Defend the abovementioned Lands and Premisses to him the said James Barnes His Heirs and Assigns from and against them the said William Jacob and Mary his wife and their Heirs and from and against all and Every ^other^ Person or Persons whatsoever Claiming any Right Title or Interest in the |
